Today, I was in an unfamiliar building on campus and I needed to use the bathroom before class started. I walked in and saw a man at the sink. I said "Oh my god I'm sorry! I thought this was the women's washroom." It was. The very butch looking woman gave me a look of death. FML

That sucks. :P It was just an honest mistake but no one likes it when their gender is assumed wrong.

LOL! This has happened to me before, except in a different situation. It was my first day of middle school and I didn't know where the bathroom was. I went into the womens bathroom, thinking it meant girls... I was washing my hands when a teacher walked in and told me that I needed to leave. O,..,O

Maybe she was just taking off your clothes with her eyes.

I dont understand when some women try so hard to look like men but get pissed off when mistsken for one. FYL OP.

Agreed! She should know that she looks butch....She should be happy that her goal of looking like a man succeeded.

Or maybe she still looks like a woman, but doesn't adhere to arbitrary social constructs. Men's hair grows just as long as women's, but society tells us long hair is womanly. Why? Where does that come from? It's not natural to cut your hair every six weeks, but we still tell men they have to do it.

Just because the OP made a mistake doesn't mean that the other woman necessarily looked like a man. She could have seen her from the back, which would make more sense. I don't look like a man at all, but I've been called sir a few times, and I have to say it's pretty insulting... :

Quite right, rinny. A lot of people... I just don't understand how they could possibly mistake some others that are really obviously of a certain gender. A classmate of mine actually thought a woman IN A DRESS was man. She said "well she looks like a fatty crossdresser." Some "logic" I guess I'll never understand.
