Could be. I don't know a lot of my friend's parent's names. You'd think he would have introduced her but maybe not, or maybe just "this is my mom", and if he's living at home the mother may be Mrs Johnson. I feel funny at 27 calling my friend's parents by their first names. At 17 it would be much worse.

Everyone I know calls their partner's parents by their first name. What I want to know is why the mother thinks her son would be calling her by her first name, and why they're having sex in his mother's house with an unlocked door :-/

I would normally call my parents mum or dad but when they don't answer I would call their first names because people know their own names better than mum or dad

Absolutely "You're really hot and smart but I'm afraid I cannot date you because your name is the same as one of my relative" Said literally no one ever. Except some self loving virgin maybe.

It's hard when your male relatives who have common names to not find a significant other that doesn't have the same name as one of them.
