Today, I was an extra in a movie and I had to play a corpse. At the make up stand, they painted my mouth blue. I then asked the make-up artist why they didn’t do more : "You’re so pale it looks like you’re already dead". FML

Now you can definitely say you were born to play the part!

As a ginger, I feel your pain. Just think, in Victorian times it was highly sought after to be that pale lol

lots of people have made an excellent living being pale... Casper the friendly ghost, frosty the snowman, Marilyn Manson. u sound like a star to me

Genuine question, how much does it pay and do you have to audition?

Generally they don't pay you at all, and if they do it's very small. The majority of the time you don't audition either, because you just walk around in the background or play dead, be a zombie, etc.

At least there's a song named after you... "Living Dead Girl"

Well, the cleanup will be easier. Less makeup to wash off when you're done.

On camera, most people are pretty washed out anyway. Stage and screen makeup is usually pretty overstated versus normal everyday makeup. I wouldn't take it as a big insult really. You don't want a corpse to look nice, you want it to look very toned down and natural.

Paler skin (I'm almost translucent in some places) because you don't tan is a good thing in the long run. Less risk of skin cancer, and a handful of other health issues, plus fewer wrinkles as you age.

They probably use make-up with darker colors for the actors that are 'alive', already making you pale in comparison.

Hey take it as a complement, a lot of people like pale girls and maybe the artist didn't know how to bring it up, and when he tried to he sounded like a jerk. Oh well OP, we'll never know
