Today, I put up one of those hanging fly catchers in my room due to the unsettling amount of flies in the house. I remarked how stupid flies were to land on them. Within an hour, I got up and walked straight into it. FML

Today, a wasp ended up in the house. Normally, I'd just open a door to outside and run for cover, but my 3-year-old son was home, so I decided to be brave and kill it. It flew into the air vents. We're now playing wasp roulette every time we enter a room. FML

Today, I walked past my fly strip while a fly who had been caught, but hadn't yet died, was on it. While I was there, I could hear his frantic buzzing and see his little arms flailing like mad as he tried in vain to escape. Great. Now I feel like shit for putting these things up. Today, I woke up to a huge, disgusting bug next to my bed. As I tried to squish it, it suddenly flew off at high speed. Now I'm lying in bed, awake and terrified because I can hear it buzzing around but can't see it anywhere. FML

Today, my 15-year-old son got so enraged at a fly that kept harassing him, that he ended up slapping himself in the face as it flew by him. This caused him to fall out of his chair, at which point he broke down into a mess of tears, humiliating me in front of everyone. FML

And it should be noted that they're attracted to rotting bodies. If your just dead, no flies. In other words, zombies, because the rot, will attract flies. Vampires, because they dont rot, despite being dead, will not attract flies. Although i have been informed that the sparkley ones attract bullets.

Ah yes, the teenaged boy. Our son begged to take an extra vac upstairs so he could clean the carpets. Some time later I went upstairs and was attacked by fleas! I went straight to the store and bought the flea powder vac stuff and used it. All I can say is take care of whatever the problem is before it gets worse.

Hi, OP here! Turns out they were just feasting on month-old food and some questionably crusty socks seemed to be also one of the causes. The wrath of the flies has been battled safely!
