Speak up, I can not imagine how stressful that is for you. Start networking immediately and research the internet. If the people you work for are idiots it is up to you to make a path. Sounds like there is plenty of opportunity if you seek it out. Hang in there.
Starting a job with no guidelines on where to start is insane. FYL OP, hopefully somebody can point you in the right direction
Sounds like me starting my first year teaching 6th grade. teacherspayteachers.com has a lot of great resources, and believe it or not pinterest does too. Good luck, don't give up, eventually it does get better, I'm living proof. My first year I started in January teaching a class that had previously been with substitutes the whole 1st semester and had no structure. It does get better, you just need to have some patience, and good Google skills.
I had the exact same thing happen to a teacher of mine - he took the time to sit with us on our first lesson together and go through everything that we had covered that year (which wasn't much at all). The exam board had a syllabus that we could reference, see if you have anything similar. They're godsends and provide a structure you can use for your lessons. Good luck OP, I have faith in you!
