Today, I untied the rope that was tied to my dog's collar because it was wrapped around the tree choking him. He immediately ran off down the street. I had to chase him barefoot in my boxers for 20 minutes till he got tired. FML

Maybe you should make the dog run around more instead of tied up. If u dont have a fence in your back yard get one. Therefore the dog can run around some without hurting anyone else. How would you like to be confined with a rope around your neck.

I have had dogs all my life I have never tied them to a tree. if I were your dog I'd have run away too.

A fence won't stop some dogs from escaping anyway. A friend had a dog that would either jump the fence or dig his way out. Although this was only when they first moved. Still, I wouldn't get a hyper dog if a had a little yard to begin with. Some breeds need to just run and run, not be confined to a little area.

I have a picket fence that I built and my dog. has a huge rope that keeps him away from it but he can still jump and play around with it on. :P But like I said, he bit right through the last one.

Maybe you should have held onto the rope as you untied it? Not a difficult concept. Also, why the **** weren't you wearing some clothes if you were outside?
