Today, I tried buying alcohol for the first time. I have a baby face, so I had my ID ready. The store owner admitted that my ID looked real enough, but he wouldn't believe it wasn't just an elaborate fake. He very nearly called the cops on me. FML

I'm stricken with the forever baby face as well, OP. When I graduated from college I had people ask me if it was high school I was graduating from. We will appreciate it one day.

It is a hassle, though, and feels humiliating. As a short baby-faced person as well this is my worst nightmare but it's not on a fear of cops.

There's a gender symbol right beside op's name up top. However a guy I know is 30 and still gets ID'd because of his baby face and growing facial hair is not an option for him because he can go months without shaving and have a bit of preach fuzz... some guys it just doesn't grow.

Threatening to call the cops is the ultimate verification mechanism to deter people with fake ID. Next time just look relax and say "Sure, go ahead, I have time my date's only expected in two hours...".

ok I was 30 and still getting carded for alcohol AND rated R movies but most people apologized for carding me. My advice is to marry someone 5-6 yrs older. People still look to card me in my 30s then they see my husband with me and stop. seriously. it's can I see your...*sees hubby* oh nevermind. works for everything.

This has to be the worst advice I've ever read on fml. Marry someone because they are 5-6 years older? To avoid getting a card check? Please don't encourage people to do dumb things :)
