Today, I took my best friend out to dinner for my birthday. She gave me a gift after I paid the tab saying, "my mom thought you would like this - it was expensive." It was a lovely set of origami paper, which was the exact set I brought her as a souvenir from Japan. She was right, it was expensive. FML

This reminds me of Old School when Will Ferrell's character Frank attempts to regift a bread machine he received from Mitch as a wedding present several times throughout the movie. Hilarious.

seriously, and I can't tell if you had given her your souvenir yet, so maybe she was even more of a bitch and regifted you a present for your B-day all in all, new friend time

1. I wouldn't be so quick to assume that it was the same gift. She probably bought the same thing. 2. If she was your best friend, you should have known better than to give her a gift she wouldn't like. 3. You probably have more money than her, so the only way she could give you something expensive is by regifting something expensive...it just happened to be yours.

Keep regifting, it'll turn into an inside joke and you'll be sending it back and forth until you're 90. That being said, regifting sucks when you notice it.
