I've done that. No clue what causes it. Drink something warm (cocoa, cider, tea), it'll help.

Warm salt water gargle, to dislodge any particles still stuck, then tea with lemon and honey. Good luck!

This happened to a friend of mine. A piece of food was buried or stuck in his esophagus wall and doctors had to surgically remove it. Go get it checked out with a doctor OP!
