Today, I received the paper quote for my families insurance. We were quoted over the phone for around $230 for all four of us; the letter says we get to pay $459 a month with me paying $290 alone. I can practically see our insurance agent flipping us off in his aviators and new BMW. FML

Assuming that you were talking to a large company that has a call centre, most of those record the calls, for legal purposes since a verbal contract over the phone can be binding. If you know the exact time you got the quote they can check the recording. If you were just talking to a local or independent agent then you should probably get quotes from other sources and take your business elsewhere.

Today, I had what I thought would be an important (and formal) interview. Not only did I turn up completely overdressed, the man who was interviewing me arrived 30 minutes late.
