Today, I noticed this guy crying in the park. I went up to him to see what was wrong. Apparently his girlfriend broke up with him, and he also said he wanted to kill himself. My first response was, "Don't, you'll regret it later." FML

o.o *insert facepalm here* Next time, if there is one, try saying the good old fashioned, "she didn't deserve you, there are better women out there." Maybe it will have more soothing effect.

Your intentions were good, don't blame yourself. Even if you said what you think was the wrong thing, you showed him that someone cares. (: I bet 20 people passed by without saying anything, giving him weird looks.

My thoughts, too! How many others just passed by staring or ignoring him? Its hard to have the courage to approach a stranger, let alone a crying stranger, so it is nice the OP took time to show him not all people are inconsiderate.

this comment is the most ridiculously selfish thing I've seen! So OP should have said nothing at all? It is better to have said something slightly dopey than say nothing at all! The guy needed someone to show they cared OP did that and who knows maybe it made him smile a bit.

I regret my after life. I spent it trying to learn how to be humble and brave from Hellen Keller but she straight up ignored me. Luckily I was reincarnated as Tom Sellecks mustache.
