80- Comment 46 didn't say fashion dictates your success, the comment said fashion shows who you are as a person, which is true. It's a way to express yourself. So unless you think expressing yourself doesn't matter, there's really no reason to disagree with the comment.

#95-- It doesn't necessarily express yourself. What if your parents only allow you to wear certain clothes? What if your school/job/religion has a strict dress code? What if you simply can't afford nice clothes? I would hate if people thought I was a bad person just because I couldn't afford the kinds of clothes I wanted...

You don't know what I look like, so you can't really make that judgment. But fyi I don't look like a bum, thanks. (Though like I said, it shouldn't matter.) But it's not like I have all the money in the world or the permission to dress the way I like. I know plenty of perfectly nice people who can't afford nice clothes. I know plenty of horrible people who dress nicely or "fashionably". Based on your comment, I'm going to assume you're the latter. :) I personally think that the only standard for dress should be that you're clean and modest. There's no need to push certain styles or types of clothing onto others. :P

Fashion really does matter. In your private life? Not so much. But try going to a job interview wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt. I'm sure they'll be impressed.

Try some reverse psychology. When they propose an outfit or combination you don't like, say "Wow, you guys have great taste. I was worried you would pick something else". Keep doing that until they pick something you like and then scream "No way will I be seen wearing that". This should buy you a few days at least before they catch on. Good luck with that.
