Today, I got bitched at for 6 hours on a roadtrip by my mother. I asked her not to smoke while my 4 month old child was in the backseat. She had a ptoblem with me being "disrespectful" towards her. She must've smoke atleast 10 times during this roadtrip. She didn't see a problem with it. FML

wtf.. she has no respect for you or your child.. personally I would have stopped the car and made her get out each time she wanted to smoke... and this is from an ex smoker..

Your mother doesn't know what "disrespectful" means. Subjecting someone, especially a baby with a new developing body, to harmful chemicals because of your shitty optional habit, that's disrespectful, you're the one doing the activity, you're the one that accommodates and refrains from doing it. Asking someone not to subject you to harmful smoke while in an enclosed space, that isn't disrespectful, it's reasonable. I can't believe you still allowed her to smoke while on the trip. I would have taken her cigarettes and destroyed them, they would have went out the window after she even tried to smoke once.

What a ******* idiot of a mother! Your child is more important than her nicotine craving.

if you would have been in California and a police officer saw that you and your mother would have been fined. it's illegal to drive while smoking with a minor in the car. next time refuse to take her anywhere until she quits smoking.

This is why I carry a fire extinguisher in the car along with a small placard that reads, "If you're smoking in here, you'd better be on fire!"

I think that law passed in most places, 1000.00 fine...

Pretty sure that is illegal now. At least it is where I'm from.

That's horrible,if it was me I would have either called another ride and gotten out of the vehicle with my kid or thrown her cigarettes or lighter out the window
