Today, I found out via a voicemail from my boss that my hours are being cut. He said, "They said I can't fire you, so you'll only be getting 20 hours a week. Starting today." Who'd they give my other 20 hours to? The one person that calls off sick almost daily and is never on time. FML

he fits the definition of a Horrible boss I'm sorry :)

I would use the time off to start looking for a better job where they appreciate you. Sometimes, you just can't win and it's time to move on. Best of luck, OP !

Not smart of the boss to say that in a voicemail. You've got evidence you can take to HR.

Work over time...you may get your hours back

Sounds like you work for my old boss!

Does anybody notice all the FMLs about bosses recently?

its winter babe...bosses are horrible in winter ...so they do what ever it takes to get bonus and vacation...

I don't see how this is discrimination. Highly unprofessional for sure but it doesn't seem to be discrimination

Sounds like youre not really respected there, so time to move on to somewhere you are more appreciated for your hard work

The boss didn't fire her because he couldn't legally do so. All he did was cut her hours. Someone had to take the hours, I don't think he cut them so the other person could have them. In what way is this a valid case?

I'm guessing that either your boss doesn't like you or he likes the other person. Sad when your bosses opinion on you means more then productivity.
