Today, I found my 15-year-old son sleeping on the couch. I asked why, and he said he'd rented his room out to someone on Craigslist to make extra money, so he was getting used to sleeping in the living room instead. FML

I like the entrepreneurial spirit! Business mind like that, he'll go places.

Why would a person accept an offer from a 15 year old anyway

who'd exactly he let into the house?

His grammar is actually fine. The only thing that makes it a little clunky is that he said "exactly he."

Since he'll have income now, he won't need allowance. It's a win win.

Is allowance a common thing? My parents tried it for like 2 weeks when I was 8 and stopped because I never spent it on anything and thought it was a waste.

Atleast he is putting his resources to use! But now that he's making an income off your living expenses maybe you should charge him rent? Lol

Donald Trump would hire this kid in a New York minute! Not only is he created a positive cash flow positively no work or effort on his behalf but he's rented out assets that are in his so win-win situation my friend. Did he promise the tenant meals with his lodging?

I think the question we all want to know is, who the hell is he letting in your house ?

I would be pissed if my child did this. There's a total disregard for the other family members who would have a stranger in the home. It's not like the guy would simply live in the kid's room, he would need to use the kitchen and the bathroom, which puts him in direct contact with the other family members. OP, cancel the contract if one is signed (either way he's a minor so I'm pretty sure it's useless) and give your son a lesson in acceptable ways to make money.

49, do you actually think a 15-year-old kid letting strangers he finds online sleep in his room is a GOOD thing?

Technically they never said that, they just stated that with the right principles in mind this plan would have been quite smart and degrading it like that makes the person seem quite boring and frustrating :P

Wheeling and dealing already! He will make himself some money in his life
