Today, I bought my brother an Xbox One and Battlefield 1 for Christmas off of eBay. To make sure it works, I was playing it myself when it suddenly caught fire. There's $400 down the drain. FML

I'm a bit doubtful of the "make sure it works" part, but unless you did something outside of the warranty or bought it from a shoddy 3rd party vendor, most places would replaces a machine that fails that spectacularly- even a used one.

Contact Microsoft immediately to see how you should proceed. As long as you were using the product as intended it will be replaced.

"Off of eBay" most sellers on there are quite shady unless you get highly rated people, and in any event you should NEVER buy new model, expensive electronics off of a site like eBay.
