Today, I arrived for the two-week scuba diving vacation I spent months saving, planning, and looking forward to. Today, I also developed an ear infection and can't scuba dive for 2 weeks. FML

Today, I have to reschedule the vacation I had planned for eight months because I have the flu, and feel too sick to go and enjoy myself at a waterpark. This vacation is the only thing that's kept me sane these last two months. FML

Today, I got my first positive Covid test. It's also the first day of a week-long vacation that included two things I'd been planning for weeks that I haven't done in years, and a trip somewhere I've been looking forward to for months. All shot to hell right before it began. FML

Today, I went scuba diving for the first time. The diver took me down some 3 meters and I started showing the thumbs up. He thought I was excited. My breather wasn't working and I was using the sign he told me to use to go up. FML

Suck it up and go scuba diving anyway. You can get it treated afterwords. I wouldn't miss out on that.

Not the best advise, as you can REALLY **** up your ears doing that. One trip isn't worth a lifetime of ear pain or worse, losing hearing in the ear. You don't mess around with that stuff.

You can't go diving of you have an ear infection... You could end up getting a bens because you can't equalize... Which means you could lose your hearing for good and even worse.

1. If you left the country you should have travel insurance 2. Hopefully the travel insurance covers sickness ( it should because it's mandatory in the country I live in). But let's hope that's not the only tourist destination in the town.

Fortunately I am in a place with lots of other things to do. Got a note and should get a refund. Can't just suck it up and dive anyway, would probably lose hearing in the ear, maybe even end up in such pain I'd pass out under water and drown
