Today, at my cousin's wedding, there was a bouquet toss. I jumped to catch it, only to get knocked down and crushed by a woman twice my size who'd jumped backwards. It still feels like someone shattered my ribs with a sledgehammer. FML

Sorry you got hurt, OP. If that woman was desperate enough to hurt you (or anyone for that matter) to catch the bouquet, she obviously needs it more than you do. Better luck next time.

She came in like a wrecking ball!! I'm so ashamed I wrote this

I wouldn't want to catch the bouquet anyways because everyone would be like "you're next ;)" to me the rest of the night.

I've always thought that women jumping for the bouquet look like a bunch of bellowing sheep. I'll never understand how a woman can still be desperate to get married in this day and age. 100 years ago it made sense, because women needed a husband to financially support them, but now being that desperate is just plain stupid. And the idiots don't even realize that it's counter-productive: any sane man will run like hell from a desperate marriage-psycho.

You're being really judgemental. A lot of women participate in the bouquet toss because it's traditional and because it can be quite fun provided it doesn't turn into a blood bath. Who says that the women doing it are hoping to attract the attention of one of the men at the wedding? And this may surprise you but women are still pressured to this day to get married. When women hit a certain age they are forever getting asked by relatives when they're getting married. Women are still bombarded with images of marriage in the media. Women are still made to believe that marriage is something we need to do and you would be surprised how much backlash women who don't ever want to get married can face

Yes, 20, that's the point 17 was trying to make. It's ridiculous how much pressure there is from all sides just to dig your hooks into someone, men included.

25-...I think the point 17 was trying to make is that women who participate in bouquet tosses are "crazy marriage psychos" and that no man would want to marry someone that "desperate" anyway. It was a stupid point.

you sure they're not broken? I'd get them checked.

Pressed flowers are easier to frame, display and store. thank her

Don't get in between a lady and her bouquet

Never join in the bouquet toss. Let the crazies believe their superstitions; you don't have to.
