unless you sent pics of your immaculate house, how the heck are they supposed to know you're "qualified." Living @ home does not guarantee instant martha stewart

Well no shit. Even if you're the best housekeeper ever, self-taught skills and abilities don't count for anything as soon as you want someone to pay you. You need credentials.

I posted this on the other FML and for some reason it ended up here instead, and it's too late for me to edit it. Looks like the only one who "fails" is you.

hey shut up housekeeping is seriously hard job. the people that work in housekeeping are great people. and probably the reason she didn't get the job is because housekeeping is not the same as taking care of kids.

are you completely stupid? Generally raising kids involves cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, laundry, tidying.... you know, all the stuff a HOUSEKEEPER DOES. And to everyone saying "you know a rejection is totally normal right??" I don't think she was complaining about being rejected, she was complaining about the rejection letter saying she *wasn't qualified*.

At 54: No, you don't understand... that comment was intended for a different FML, and it ended up on this one instead for some reason due to a glitch in the website.

Actually there are a lot of employers out there who would much rather a person with experience than "credentials". Just as any first-year grad who can't get a job because all the employers want someone with "experience".

Are you really that surprised you didn't get the job? No experience, no job for 15 years. You choose to apply in an economic recession and you're surprised? really?

I wish more people would realize that raising children and taking care of a house can be a full time job. Didn't someone do an article about how much homemakers would make if they were paid for what they did? And it ended up being a lot of money.

Turn around. ... I don't think so. Okay. You lend me money? No! You drive my grandmother to doctor's appointment? No, no, I'm not doing that! I stick finger in your mouth? HouseKEEPing? Okay. Okay.

The reference letters from your kids were not very impressive. First, they were form your own kids, and, Second, they think you're a lazy douchebag who doesn't sweep under the fridge.
