Someone Forced A Bot To Watch 1,000 Hours Of Olive Garden Commercials And Then Write Its Own...And The Result Is Hilarious.

1,000 hours of Olive Garden commercials? FML for the poor bot that has got to be begging for the sweet release of death at this point.

On Wednesday, comedian Keaton Patti tweeted that he forced a bot to watch over 1,000 hours of Olive Garden commercials and then asked it to write its own version. Almost every line in the script is such a hilarious one-liner and in just over one day, the tweet got over 250,000 likes and almost 100,000 retweets. See what's so funny for yourself below-- but be prepared for "wet voice" and "a mouthful of secret soup."

Obviously, the replies on this one were golden.

Olive Garden actually piped in as well, and they took the roast like a champ.

And of course, there's always Actually Man™ who has to come in and say that it's fake and somehow misses that most people realize that and it's part of the comedy.

Fake or not, this is some grade A comedy. Anyone craving pasta nachos or lasanga wings?

I love the tautology, "When you're here, you're here." It's better than the original, "When you're here, you're family." I don't need the waitress telling me my girlfriend is "white trash" and then trying to borrow money from me. I eat out specifically to get away from family!

Hold up. WATCHING commercials? If they'd claimed to have fed it a bunch of scripts to use as a corpus that would be credible, but claiming it built these based on audio stretches credibility to the extreme. That's not something any machine learning hobbyist has ever done. On top of that, the text retains way too much context from one sentence to the next to be using Markov chains or the like. This is a transparent lie.

Ah, looks like I missed the part where they try to excuse it with "it's part of the comedy" in some nebulous way. Well, that makes lying to people who don't know any better perfectly fine!
