Research Finds That Lack Of Sex Can Make Your Vagina Depressed-- So Get To It, Ladies.

So... how you doin'?

Ladies, if you're experiencing a dry spell, it may actually be bad for your health. New research has found that lack of sex can actually make your vagina depressed. Looks like Charlotte was right about that after all.

It's true, and not just in the way you've probably been saying to your friends every time you go a few weeks without gettin' it. According to Higher Perspectives, if your vagina is actually depressed, it can lead to vaginal atrophy, which causes the vaginal wall to become thin.

“Vaginal atrophy or the thinning of the walls, could be due to a variety of factors. Lack of sex could be one," said Courtney Geter, a sex therapist. “The vagina is a muscle where consistent use can help maintain comfort with many activities including sex."

“Sex and orgasm help blood flow to the muscles, which is needed for oxygen to reach the muscles as well. Just like with working out or daily activity. Consistent sexual play either with self or a partner is helpful."

So how do you know if your vagina is depressed? The symptoms include a burning or itching sensation despite there being no signs of an infection.

So how do you keep your vag healthy and happy, and steer clear of vaginal atrophy?

“They need some form of sexual activity with partner or with self to keep the muscles functioning," Geter said.

You hear that ladies? Doctor's orders!
