Happy National Tolkien Reading Day! Here are 13 FMLs About Lord Of The Rings
According to National Day Calendar, a group of nerds called the Tolkien Society started this day in 2003 to encourage people to read his work, and March 25th was chosen as the date to honor the fall of Sauron. Not sure what that means, you stinkin' bunch of nerds, but here are 15 of the funniest Lord of the Rings FMLs!
1. If they're fans, that might not be an insult!
2. Not a bad tattoo idea either though.
Today, I was showing off the Mount Kilimanjaro tattoo that I got after climbing it. It's a silhouette of the mountain and the word "KILI" in bold. My girlfriend told her friends it was actually the Lonely Mountain from The Hobbit, and that Kili was my favorite dwarf. FML
3. At least that's a clear 'yes!'
4. Super tough guy.
Today, my girlfriend's dad refused to give me permission to marry his daughter because I'm "covered in gang tattoos" and he doesn't want his daughter marrying a criminal. The only tattoos I have are the Game of Thrones direwolf and a quote from the Lord of the Rings movies. FML
5. Though your nerdy asses are perfect for each other.
6. That is when you promptly get up and leave.
7. Annnnnd then he was single.
Today my boyfriend and my best friend had a very lengthy, detailed conversation about Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, of which I know nothing about. Once they stopped, I looked at him and smiled, and he responded with, "Why can't you be more like her?" FML
8. Get you a dad like this.
Today, my dad watched his first Lord of the Rings marathon. Now he keeps spouting lines from the movies, and thought it'd be funny to hide in my closet, just to jump out at me screaming, "My precious!" FML
9. Don't know whether to laugh or cry.
10. Dried up for the next 8 months.
11. WE HAVE SOMETHING SERIOUS TO DISCUSS.
Today, my father, who is going through a serious mid-life crisis, walked into my room, told me to "sit the fuck down," and spent the next two hours ranting about how the Lord of the Rings books prophesy the end of the world this December, and that Sauron is an analogy for "corrupt bankers." FML
